Summary:

As a Court Clerk, you will be essential in supporting the legal process by managing administrative tasks within the court system. Reporting to the Clerk of Court, you will utilize your office experience and organizational skills to handle data entry and customer service inquiries. Your proficiency in word processing and legal drafting will aid in preparing court documents and managing case files. Additionally, your experience with cash handling will ensure accurate processing of fines and fees. Responsibilities:
– MUST BE detail oriented with the ability to deal with a fast-paced environment and interactions with the public. Self-confidence and maturity needed to adhere to procedures, question input and resolve problems that inevitably arise. Previous law office experience, court experience, police experience or a university course of study in criminal justice are strengths.  Typing of 40 wpm or more required.

– Assist in the administration of court proceedings and maintain court records
– Prepare and process legal documents, such as summonses, subpoenas, and warrants

– Enter data received from local police departments into court computer system
– Schedule and coordinate court appearances and meetings
– Collect and handle fees, fines, and other payments
– Perform research and gather information for judges and attorneys
– Provide administrative support to judges, attorneys, and other court personnel
– Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
– Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures

 

Qualifications:
-Previous legal office or data entry experience is a plus

– High school diploma or equivalent required
– Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
– Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds
– Proficient in word processing software and other office applications
– Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is a plus
– Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
