In November, Medina City Council approved Ordinance 206-25, authorizing a $50,000 donation to Feeding Medina County to support residents of the City of Medina facing food insecurity.

According to recent data, approximately 11.4% of Medina County residents experience food insecurity or hunger, with children affected at an even higher rate. The funding aims to strengthen local efforts to ensure access to nutritious food for individuals and families in need.

Members of City Council and City staff have actively supported these initiatives by volunteering at two Feeding Medina County distribution events. The most recent event, held April 21 at the Medina County Fairgrounds, provided assistance to 101 families, serving a total of 271 individuals. The event also introduced 32 new participants to the organization’s services.

City officials expressed pride in working alongside community partners to distribute food and help ease the burden for residents during challenging times. These collaborative efforts reflect the City’s ongoing commitment to improving food security and supporting the well-being of its community.

Residents interested in supporting Feeding Medina County or learning more about its programs are encouraged to visit Feeding Medina County.
