Spirits of the Past

25th Anniversary of 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Under the leadership of the Medina Sunrise Rotary, this program will remember those who lost their lives on that fateful day 25 years ago in New York, Washington D.C., and Shanksville, PA, with special recognition of firefighters.

Ohio Goes to the Movies

Ohio Goes to the Movies™ (OGTTM) is a statewide celebration of movies showcasing Ohioans: actors, directors, writers, composers, locations, and topics, shown in cities and towns across the state. As part of this special celebration, there will be a free showing of “Draft Day” at Medina Regal Cinema.

Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk

September 13: 8:00 – 11:00 am

The Tunnel to towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty. Salute to Farming

A special Medina Square Farmers Market with petting zoo, beekeeping demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, Antique Power Association equipment, and artifacts related to farming in Medina County. Sponsored by Main Street Medina and Medina County Agricultural Society.

Medina Ghost & Gobblin’ Walk

Starts at the Gazebo

Spring Grove Arboretum Walk

October 17: 2:00 to 4:00 pm, rain or shine

Spring Grove Cemetery, 775 E. Washington St

Group tour of Spring Grove’s urban forest lead by a Master Arborist at 2 pm. Self-guided tours between 2 and 4 pm. Family fun scavenger hunt. Stroller, wagon, wheelchair, and pet friendly. Sponsored by Medina Friends of the Cemetery.

Great America 250 Pumpkin Salute

October 24: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Public Square, Broadway

All ages are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to the Square for a special contest and lighting at 6 pm. Hoping to fill all the steps of the courthouses with pumpkins. Bring your lawn chair and your camera. Prizes for the Funniest, Scariest, Most Patriotic, and Best Group Display. There will be a hay maze, costume contest, games, music, food trucks and more! At 9 pm, everyone takes their pumpkin home for Halloween. Sponsored by Medina Sunrise Rotary and Ravago.

November – Medina Serves: Remembering Veterans, First Responders & Frontline Heroes

Veterans Day Service

Medina Community Band will play in concert and there will be featured speakers to honor all veterans during the Medina Veteran’s Day Program.

Open House Honoring Veterans

November 14 & 15: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Veteran’s Hall, 620 North Broadway

Open House for the public to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans, and to visit displays of Medina’s history at war. All visitors will receive a hand-held American flag. Veterans will be on hand to talk with visitors. Refreshments will be served. Free admission.
