September - Medina Plays: Sports & Recreation

Medina Sports History Exhibit
Month of September: 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday,

Medina Community Recreation Center Community Room, 855 Weymouth Rd

Stop in to view the exhibit that highlights the history of sports teams and accomplishments of  athletes from Medina. Free admission. Sponsored by Medina Community Recreation Center.

 Medina High School Homecoming Parade
October 8: 6:00 pm

Parade begins at Garfield School, heads north on Broadway to Union Street, and takes Union Street east to the Medina High School.  Parade is followed by the Annual Powder Puff Football Game in the High School Stadium. Game tickets are $5.

Homecoming Tailgate Party
October 9: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Medina Rec, 855 Weymouth Rd

Gather up all your alumni buds and meet at the Medina Rec. There will be food trucks, family activities and games, and time to visit the Sports Hall of Fame display in the Rec Center before the big game. Sponsored by Medina Community Recreation Center.

Farmer’s Market
October 3: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Medina Uptown Park

The Farmers Market feature 70+ vendors with the best in locally grown greens, fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, heirloom produce, meats & cheeses, and much more! Treat yourself to homemade jams and jellies, nut butters, local honey, fresh bread and baked goods (GF & V), and pet stuff! Medina Town Hall & Engine House Museum will be open from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Salute to Farming
October 10: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm 

Medina Uptown Park

A special Medina Square Farmers Market with petting zoo, beekeeping demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, Antique Power Association equipment, and artifacts related to farming in Medina County. Sponsored by Main Street Medina and Medina County Agricultural Society.

 
Medina Ghost & Gobblin’ Walk
October 15: 5:30  pm to 9:30 pm

Starts at the Gazebo

Food and spirits are paired with ghostly tales. Gather with fellow thrill-seekers at the Medina Gazebo to follow the flicker of ghostly tales through Medina’s haunted past.  Sponsored by Main Street Medina.

Great America 250 Pumpkin Salute
October 25: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Public Square, Broadway

All ages are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to the Square for a special contest and lighting at 6 pm.  Hoping to fill all the steps of the courthouses with pumpkins. Bring your lawn chair and your camera. Prizes for the Funniest, Scariest, and Most Artistic Pumpkins.  There will be a  hay maze, family pumpkin pie eating contest, games, music, and food trucks.  At 9 pm, everyone takes their pumpkin home for Halloween.  Sponsored by Medina Sunrise Rotary and Ravago.

November – Medina Serves: Remembering Veterans, First Responders & Frontline Heroes

Veterans Day Service
November 11: 7:00 pm

St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 East Washington Street

Medina Community Band will play in concert and there will be featured speakers to honor all veterans during the Medina Veteran’s Day Program.

 

Open House Honoring Veterans
November 14 & 15: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Veteran’s Hall, 620 North Broadway

Open House for the public to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans, and to visit displays of Medina’s history at war. All visitors will receive a hand-held American  flag. Veterans will be on hand to talk with visitors.  Refreshments will be served.  Free admission.

Voices of Medina Celebration Concert
November 22: 4:00 pm

St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 East Washington Street

Voices of Medina will feature singers from local church choirs and community choirs joining together for Sing Democracy 250. Free admission.

 

December - Future Medina: Projecting Medina in 2076

Legacy Hotel, 257 South Court Street

2026 relevant/popular items will be collected to be included in time capsule. Time capsule to be buried for 50 years and retrieved during 300th anniversary celebration in 2076.
