LOCAL ECONOMIC AGREEMENTS

York Township - Currently, the City of Medina, Ohio has an economic agreement with neighboring York Township. This agreement is a Cooperative Economic Development Agreement (CEDA) which consistes of 14 parcels of land located along Stone Road, Branch Road and West Smith Road containing approximately 273.18 acres. The CEDA agreement with York Township permits annexation of properties without being detached from York Township. The City will not annex any other properties in York Township for the period of the agreement (50 years). The CEDA agreement expands the City's available industrially zoned land by the approximately 273.18 acres. Montville Township - In 2010, The City of Medina, Ohio and Montville Township joined forces to create a Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) within commercial zones along sections of State Routes 3 and 18 in Montville Township.  This economic development tool benefits landowners and business owners who elect to join. A portion of the revenue created in the JEDD can be used by businesses for current - and future - property improvement.
